Procedures Explained

Root Canals

Root canals are no longer the dreaded procedure they once were. With advancements in technology, a root canal can go just as smoothly as any other treatment. While they aren’t most people's favourite dental procedure, root canals are often necessary in order to save the tooth and surrounding nerves and roots.

When a tooth becomes diseased or infected, the inner part of the tooth (the pulp), is affected. Sometimes the infection goes beyond the root and affects the bone.

In order to save the tooth, the decayed area in the pulp and canal is removed and the vacant space filled. You’ll leave our office with a clean, strong, and healthy tooth free from disease and decay.
